OCEAN VIEWS

In August of 2015, I traveled with my sister to San Juan, Puerto Rico for her birthday.
When we arrived at the Caribe Hilton we waited for literally hours for our room to be ready, but we were quite pleased after seeing the view from our balcony. That night we got dressed, walked around the city a bit, then decided to have dinner in.
The next day, we hit up the local beach, almost got eaten up by the creatures in the coral reefs, then had pina coladas, and headed to Old San Juan for dinner and entertainment. Old San Juan was my favorite place that we visited because it reminded me of many rustic towns in Spain.
After the beautiful sights in Old San Juan, I craved a beach day, so my sister let me float in the water for several hours before we headed to dinner at Oceano.
There we discovered the beautiful Condado beach, bomb drinks (try the Cristal Sour if you ever visit), and we got to see some crazy fireworks.
The next morning was my sister's actual birthday, so I twerked something for her. LOL. Though that might have been appropriate, instead we had brunch, visited the Puerto Rican Museo de Contemporary Art, then celebrated with dinner at Fogo De Chao. I would totally recommend the museum- it was walking distance from Condado and the art was quaint and quite thought-provoking.
On our last day, we toured San Geronimo del Boqueron: an old castle-like structure on the ocean that came equipped with gigantic, fear-inducing lizards/iguanas and majestic sights of the Atlantic Ocean.
What I loved about Puerto Rico was that the food and drinks were affordable and of great quality! Most of the people were pleasant, and though a bit touristy, San Juan is a great destination to escape to from the city.

  1. Ya know I don't think I've been in a hammock yet. I really want to just lay in one for a day!
