The Nigerian Independence Parade in NY was truly inspiring. The food had me dancing and I appreciated the amount of people who came out to represent. I was expecting it to be similar to the West Indian Day Parade; however, it was a lot more localized with traditional bands, vendors, and a performance stage.
I wore an oversized top, printed ankara skirt, tights + boots to rep Nigeria in an understated, edgy way. My sister also came to NY for the weekend and that was another point of happiness.

Love this shot.
I hope that you enjoyed the photos.
This city has shown me a good time thus far. I'm praying that that lasts through the Winter. ;]
